Mark Cuban Companies MATRIX ANALYTICS (now Eon) Deploys at SCL HEALTH
May 25, 2017
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado, the largest hospital between Salt Lake City and Denver, deployed LungDirect as part of a strategic pilot to determine the value of a pulmonary nodule software management system. St. Mary’s Medical Center is part of Broomfield-based SCL Health, a faith-based nonprofit health system with 13 hospitals in Colorado, Montana and Kansas. SCL Health and Matrix Analytics (now Eon) submitted the idea for the pilot program last year as part of the Prime Health Challenge, a Colorado event that brings together innovative start-ups with larger, more established organizations.
“We believe there’s a chance the LungDirect module can benefit our patients, and we look forward to discovering what the pilot program may reveal,” said Peter Kung, System Vice President, Innovation and Virtual Health, SCL Health. “SCL Health is a proponent of strategic partnerships that hold the potential to advance our constant quest to create better person-centered care and the best outcomes.”
LungDirect, a product of Matrix Analytics, is a proprietary software suite developed by Interventional Pulmonologist, Dr. Akrum Alzubaidi. Electronic Medical Record systems are not equipped to manage nodule care coordination, so Dr. Alzubaidi and his staff were left to use spreadsheets and other outdated mechanisms to manage nodule patients, prompting the creation of LungDirect. Dr. Alzubaidi is an Assistant Professor, Division of Pulmonary, at National Jewish Health in Denver. National Jewish Health is also a strategic partner of SCL Health, collaborating in a number of key clinical services.
The LungDirect pilot program went live in May and will last six months, at which time results will be analyzed.
