Matrix Analytics, a Mark Cuban Company, Receives Colorado Innovation Grant

May 19, 2017

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Matrix Analytics is the recipient of a grant from the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. The grant will be used to obtain regulatory approval for the radiomic and prediction modules that will integrate into LungDirect, a software application currently used to optimize pulmonary nodule and lung cancer patient care.

Dr. Akrum Alzubaidi, an Interventional Pulmonologist at National Jewish Health in Denver, Colorado, and Founder of Matrix Analytics says, “Focused efforts like ours in artificial intelligence and deep learning are needed to bring true sea change. We are the first to implement a platform that will enable modification of the pre-test probability, not just on pulmonary nodules, but on any disease state. This is key for meaningful machine learning. Pairing this grant with the best minds in medicine and business, while leveraging the power of Amazon AWS deep learning instances, the possibilities become endless.”

LungDirect is a proprietary software suite developed to improve disjointed care for pulmonary nodule patients. Electronic Medical Record systems are not equipped to manage nodule care coordination, and LungDirect offers an innovative way for providers to manage both lung cancer screening patients and other at-risk pulmonary nodule patients.

Matrix Analytics President, Christine Spraker, adds, “We are excited about what this grant will do for patients with pulmonary nodules. We see a future where the platform in which LungDirect is built upon revolutionizes the way healthcare is delivered. This is just the first step.”

About Matrix Analytics: Matrix Analytics is a collection of clinical and business experts aligned in the belief that conquering illness and disease requires data, creativity, and an unrelenting focus on Always Learning. First in our sights: Lung Cancer. Despite recent clinical advancements and available technology, an integrated solution to drive the consistent and efficient detection, diagnosis, and treatment of pulmonary nodules and lung cancer does not exist. LungDirect is the first line of defense in the fight. LungDirect registers incidental pulmonary nodules and screening patients to a dashboard and makes a user aware of these patients so they can be followed and treated according to standard clinical care guidelines. Pulmonary nodule management has never been easier!
