What are incidental findings and why do they matter?
Incidental findings are potential cancers that are found unintentionally and unrelated to the condition that prompted the exam.
Although 40% of all imaging exams will surface an incidental finding, only one-third of these patients receive appropriate and timely follow-up.
This creates an urgent mandate for health systems to impact patient survival rates and provide the clinically-appropriate specialty care required.
